3TC (Lamivudine)

3TC (Lamivudine) is a medication used to treat HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B. It belongs to a class of drugs called nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), which work by blocking the action of reverse transcriptase, an enzyme necessary for the virus to replicate.

3TC does not cure AIDS or kill the HIV vires but prevents further damage to the immune system by stopping production of new viruses

Lamivudine is often used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs to control HIV infection. It can also be used alone or with other medications to treat hepatitis B.
