Amlodipine Tab

    Amlodipine that belongs to a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It is commonly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain (angina). Amlodipine works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, allowing for better blood flow and reducing the workload on the heart. This helps to lower blood pressure and relieve chest pain.
1. Dosage: Take amlodipine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum dose of 10 mg once daily if needed.
2. Timing: Amlodipine is usually taken once a day, with or without food. It's best to take it at the same time each day to help you remember.
3. Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
4. Side Effects: Common side effects of amlodipine include swelling in your legs or ankles, dizziness, flushing, and headache. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, contact your health professor .
5. Interactions: Amlodipine can interact with other medications, so it's important to tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter and herbal supplements.
