Cloxacillin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is a type as class of beta-lactamase resistant penicillin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, and is often prescribed to treat infections such as skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, and some types of urinary tract infections.

Cloxacillin is active against most Gram-positive cocci.
